Recently his work was nominated for a Crystal Pine Award by the ISFMF, highlighting his work as a composer in the more than 25 productions that make up his filmography; This includes a production that received an honorable mention at the FICG 2016, a first place at the FIC 2019 and 4 productions that were nominated for the Ariel award, one of them being the winner (El Ocaso de Juan - Omar D. Juarez 2016). Similarly, his work was recognized in 2021 as part of the winning short film of the venus for best international film at the FILMETS 2021 festival in Badalona, ​​Spain, obtaining positive comments from specialized critics.

Throughout his career, he has had the honor of working alongside prominent industry figures such as Guillermo Arriaga and Martín Hernández. Carlos Virgilio Mendoza is a member of Berlinale Talents 2019 in its Guadalajara edition, and it is through this connection with all forms of cinematographic expression that he has been able to strengthen his voice as a composer, which he began to capture during his formative stage at Berklee College of Music.

In 2016 he made his debut as a conductor conducting the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Tlaxcala within the framework of the symphonic festival of the same year; Since then his career as a director has made steady progress. Today he is the principal conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the State of Colima, which he founded in 2019 with the aim of recording, creating and disseminating high-quality symphonic music to young and new audiences who have had little or no exposure to music. classic. Balancing these responsibilities is crucial in his career and he finds in both a vibrant relationship that he plans to continue exploiting in the years to come.
